Cookie Policy
This website sets two cookies, both for visitor counting. Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages get read. That's the entire list — no advertising pixels, no remarketing, no session recording, and nothing that knows your name. You can opt out in one click, and the site works exactly the same either way.
Most sites bury this in three thousand words. Here's the whole truth in one page.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, usually so it can recognise you on your next visit. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, device fingerprinting — do comparable things by other means. We use only the two analytics cookies below, and none of the rest.
The cookies we do set
Both are first-party cookies set by Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-144KJ00BF6):
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Stores a random ID so a returning reader isn't counted as a new person every visit | 2 years |
_ga_144KJ00BF6 | Keeps the current session's state so one visit is counted as one visit | 2 years |
They hold a random number, not your identity. What we get back is aggregate: page views, referrers, device type, city-level location, time on page, and clicks on our "Enquire" and Instagram buttons. We have switched off Google Signals and ad personalisation, IP anonymisation is on, and the data auto-deletes after 14 months. Full detail is in section 3 of the Privacy Policy.
What we don't run
- No advertising or remarketing. No Meta Pixel, no Google Ads tag, no conversion tracking. You will not be retargeted with our ads because you visited this site.
- No session recording or heatmaps. Nobody replays your mouse movements or reads what you typed.
- No social embeds that track you. Links to Instagram are plain links. Nothing loads from a social network until you actively click through.
- No selling or sharing. Analytics data is never combined with your coaching record, and never sold to anyone.
How to opt out
Any one of these stops the counting, and none of them breaks the site:
- Install Google's official opt-out browser add-on — works across every site that uses Analytics.
- Block cookies for dionsamuelfitness.com in your browser settings, or browse in a private window.
- Turn on your browser's built-in tracking protection, or use any content blocker — they all block the Analytics script.
- Delete the
_gacookies at any time; we'll simply count your next visit as a new one.
What else happens when you load a page
Two more things involve a third party, and neither sets a cookie:
| Who | Why | What they may process |
|---|---|---|
| Our hosting provider | To serve the page to your browser | Standard server logs: IP address, browser user-agent, page requested, timestamp — used to deliver content and defend against abuse |
| Google Fonts | To load the Bebas Neue and Archivo typefaces | Your IP address and browser details, as part of the font request. Google does not set advertising cookies through the Fonts API |
These are ordinary technical requests that any website makes to render itself. Neither identifies you to us, and we don't combine them with anything else.
When you leave this site
Clicking "Enquire" or any Instagram link takes you to Meta's platform, which absolutely does use cookies and tracking of its own. From that moment you're covered by Instagram's privacy policy, not ours. The same goes for any payment gateway you use to pay for coaching. We have no control over what those platforms collect.
Controlling cookies generally
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies from any site — usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking cookies entirely will not affect anything on dionsamuelfitness.com, since nothing here depends on them. It may well break other sites you use.
If this ever changes
If we add any further technology that stores data on your device, we'll update this page before it goes live, change the "last updated" date, and ask for consent where the law requires it. We won't quietly slip a tracker in.
